01:45 pm - Cosplay Day - Kinokuniya

Waaaaaaaaaao, NY is having a good few events for cosplayers. And one such day was Cosplay Day in which the US representatives for the WCS (World Cosplay Summit held in Japan) got to speak and show us clips of their performances. I learned a lot about cosplaying, the relationship between craftsmanship and performance, and how to just enjoy yourself and to dress up as whatever you want (Disney Princesses, FTW!)

Once again, a big congratulations to the participants. You guys were amazing and thank you for representing the US so well! GO TEAM USA! ♥

Annnnnd cosplay shots. Sunday was the unveiling of:

How it happened: Well, it all started when Bi junkohime noticed Kinokuniya was hosting the Cosplay Event and suddenly called me. "We should do something together, like a pair." and after an hour of brainstorming, we came up with this or Nurse Joy/Officer Jenny (...I wish...I was kidding...XD). I kind of forget what the others were since those two were prevalent. The outcome was Maru and Moro, of course.

Why we did it: I've been going on and on about how I wanted to do CLAMP for ages. I wanted to cosplay something light and playful. And my friends already have an XXXHolic thing in the works anyhow and Maru and Moro weren't taken yet.

( Unfortunately neither of us brought our camera so we have few pictures )

**so you might be wondering what happened to the AnimeNEXT pictures for this year? ....yeah, we're wondering about that too... >.>

10:56 pm - Kinokuniya: 6th Ave's EGL Day

zomigod, no update in this since two years ago >< I'm so bad about posting in this thing. But, since I took a break from cosplay last year, I suppose that makes sense. I didn't dress up last year, but my little cousin was Lain from Serial Experiments Lain. Let's all say it together now:

Nana Day (07/07/07) at AnimeNEXT was great: Pocky, sunshine, and 12012. Can't get better than that. :3

But this update is for a more recent event called EGL DAY or... the mini-con before the ANEXT con! Kinokuniya hosted a small event where cosplayers from around NY could...well...cosplay. And make a general ruckus, as we do best. And while I had a good time knowing that FFX/X-2's fandom was still being appreciated years later, if I hear Morning Glow played one more time, I'm kicking...something...I'll think of what that something is when I get to it. o.o

FINALLY! I got some pictures squeezed out of binkuchan and it took way too long *wipes sweat* This isn't everything or everyone, so if you're not in this batch, I so sowwie! Be patient, we're both working girls *haha*

New Sewing Machine needs to be portable, as I am a cosplayer who is going to college in O-hee-o (word to the Oberlin Obies).

09:13 pm - To begin- Gunner Yuna FFX-2

Heh, Tiko the emotion kitty had to come with me. He's been with my livejournal since day one and I invertedly called him what I now nickname Tidus XD.

Well, I'm more than halfway done with my bride Yuna cosplay, but I thought I should throw back to the beginning when I started making my own costumes. It was last year at AnimeNEXT2004. Though my first cosplay was actually at BAAF2003, I had bought all the materials and basically made a homemade version of Haruhara Haruko of Furi Kuri. Though it was a fun costume, I don't consider it my first real cosplay because I didn't make any of it myself.
